Both teams fully healthy ahead of Super Bowl

- By Chris Biderman

MIAMI -- Want a good omen for the 49ers heading into Super Bowl 54? They went undefeated this season when all their most important players were healthy.

Tight end George Kittle (knee, ankle) was out for their November loss to the Seahawks. Linebacker Kwon Alexander (pectoral) and left tackle Joe Staley (finger) missed the defeat in Baltimore Dec. 1. Cornerback Richard Sherman (hamstring) saw San Francisco fall to the Falcons from the sideline while Julio Jones torched the secondary.

We bring this up because the 49ers issued their injury report on Friday and they will have all their active players available and healthy for Sunday.

Running back Tevin Coleman (dislocated shoulder), Alexander and safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) were upgraded from limited participants to full during Friday's practice at the University of Miami.

"Everyone is good," coach Kyle Shanahan said, according to the pool report. "That was the goal."

On Coleman, Shanahan said: "He's worked his tail off to get healthy. He's good to go. He's confident."

The 49ers practiced for 70 minutes in jerseys and helmets with no shells. Some players before practice swapped jerseys to play a prank on the coaches, including Nick Bosa wearing Jimmie Ward's No. 20, Kittle wearing fellow tight end Levin Toilolo's 83 and Coleman swapping with fullback Kyle Juszczyk for No. 44.

"They surprised us with it," Shanahan said. "They are loose and feeling good, and they had fun with it. We'll see how it is when we watch film."

Staley, the team's longest tenured player, broke down the huddle after practice. Staley is the only player on the active roster who played in the team's last Super Bowl following the 2012 season.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are also heading into Sunday's game in good health.

Defensive lineman Chris Jones (calf), tight end Travis Kelce (knee), center Austin Reiter (wrist), and tight end Deon Yelder (Achilles) all participated in Kansas City's practice and coach Andy Reid expects them all to play, according to the pool report.
