JACK GERLACK

December 30, 1933 to December 26, 2020

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Jack Gerlack. Born In Burley, Idaho to David and Emma Gerlack. His family moved to Sacramento in 1935 and then to Stockton. Jack graduated from Lodi Academy in 1952. He volunteered for the draft in the summer of 1954.

He served two years in the Medic Corps, station in Japan. He was discharged in 1956 and returned to Stockton, working for the Pacific Bell, General Mills and the Lodi Fire Dept. retiring in 1989 from the fire dept. Jack was a very hard worker. Working two to three jobs in his younger years.

He met is wife, Mandy at the Lodi Lake, summer of 1957 and the two were married on April 20, 1958. They have two children, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, Dante and Penelope Gonzalez and Braelyn Sciolla. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed.

Jack was a member of the Lodi Silver Bells R.V. Club and the Stockton Yacht Club. He enjoyed traveling with wife Mandy. Some of their travels include Aruba, Fiji, Spain, St. Martin, Hawaii and Turks & Caicos. They loved spending their winter in Yuma, Ariz. He also enjoyed his yearly hunting trips to Alaska.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, David & Emma Gerlack; and sister, Irene Alway.

He is survived by is wife of 62 years, Mandy Gerlack; son, Rick (Pam) Gerlack; daughter, Mitzi Gerlack; grandchildren, Nicole Baller (Nivo) Gonzalez, Janelle, Brent and Brianne Gerlack; great grandchildren, Dante & Penelope Gonzalez and Braelyn Sciolla; sisters, Gladys Dollinger, Dorene Hirschkorn; brother, Ken (Gay) Gerlack; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jacks name to the Lodi Salvation Army, 622 N. Sacramento St., Lodi, 95240 or choice of donor.

There will not be a funeral, due to Covid restrictions.
