Greene should be booted out of office
Editor: “Trumpism” is America’s social disease. Were it an actual physical affliction, the national Centers for Disease Control would place an intemperate member of Congress in permanent isolation.
Freshman Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a QAnon devotee who expressed support for the assassination of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and other senior Democratic
Party officeholders, denied the Sandy Hook school shooting, and advanced a wacky theory about spaced-based lasers controlled by Jews, talked herself out of a job recently. Democrats and a few Republican members of the House of Representatives haven’t yet removed Greene from her House seat, but she no longer serves on any committees. Green now is about as useful at a twolegged stool.
Akin to her political god, disgraced former President Donald J. Trump, the conspiracy theorist from Georgia persisted in supporting lies and was wholly unrepentant about her colleagues’ disciplinary vote, according to a Feb. 5 report by Associated Press correspondents Alani From and Brian Slodysko:
“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene lashed out Friday at ‘morons’ in both parties who voted to kick her off her committees, a day after the House meted out the unprecedented punishment that Democrats said she’d earned by spreading hateful and violent conspiracy theories.
“Underscoring the political vise her inflammatory commentary has clamped her party into, all but 11 Republicans voted against the Democratic move on Thursday but none rose to defend her lengthy history of outrageous social media posts.”
Greene apparently hopes to inherit the mantle of late Sen. “Tailgunner Joe” McCarthy (who hadn’t been a WWII B-17 tailgunner) during the communists in government witch hunt in the 1950s. She revels in her infamy. Greene might wish to recall a Senator’s farewell to McCarthy: “Have you no sense of decency?”
Greene does not have a sense of decency. She should be booted out of office entirely. “Trumpism” might be cured by some political penicillin, or Truth. LANGE WINCKLER Lodi
