HAROLD CLARK SALAUN

Harold Clark Salaun passed away on March 5, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born June 2, 1933 in Acampo, CA to Ray & Esther Salaun.

Harold attended Houston School and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1952. After high school Harold attended college in LA. Upon his return to Lodi he married the love of his life, Louise Davis on June 28, 1953. They met in high school and enjoyed 67 years and 8 months of life together. After they married Harold was drafted and served with the US Army for 2 years from January 1955 to January 1957. Harold was stationed for 11 months in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon his return Harold and Louise started their family. After having a son, Jeff and a daughter, Lisa, their family was complete. Harold started his career in the automotive field. As a teenager he enjoyed working on cars. Auto shop was his favorite class in high school. Harold had a 1942 black Buick he spent many hours customizin­g. His fondness for cars lasted throughout his lifetime. Harold started out as a painter’s helper and advanced to a painter. Harold and his brother, Robert “Bud” owned Salaun’s Body Shop and Tow Service in Sacramento. When the business sold, Harold went to work for Martin Senour Paint Company as a sales rep. When he settled back in Lodi, he worked as a Body Shop Manager for Stubb’s and other local auto dealership­s. In 1996, Harold and his wife opened Lodi Heavy Haul, which they operated until 2003 when the business sold.

Harold was a fun, friendly person. He enjoyed his family and many friends. He helped many people during his lifetime. Harold enjoyed golfing, fishing, and deep sea fishing with friends. He also enjoyed the fishing trips to Alaska with his family and friends. These trips were very special. Harold and Louise enjoyed many great cruises and trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Lake Tahoe, Santa Cruz, San Diego, to name a few. Their travels took them to many different states along with their family and dear friends who were all part of their extended family. Harold enjoyed and dearly loved many wonderful pets. His family always came first and he dearly loved them as we all dearly loved and will deeply miss him. Anyone who knew him will as well.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Esther; brother, Robert “Bud”; sister, Lydia; as well as many other relatives.

Harold is survived by his brother, Richard; wife, Louise; son, Jeff (Cindy); daughter, Lisa (Jeff); grandsons, Shaun and Justin (Sarah); great granddaugh­ters, Alexis and Aliyah; and great grandsons, Beau and Cam.

A graveside service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park on March 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. with visitation on March 18, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. in Lodi. Family and friends are invited to attend.
