DONALD ‘MAC’ MACLEOD

-

Mac passed away on February 26, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born on July 18, 1929 in Medford, MA to Roderick and Violet MacLeod. Both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit, MI and attended college at Michigan State. He joined the US Navy in 1948 and served four years during the Korean War aboard a submarine. He was a proud member of the Woodbridge Golf & Country Club for over 30 years, Lodi Rotary, Odd Fellows and the Moose Lodge. He joined the City of Lodi Fire Dept. as a firefighter in 1953 and rose to the rank of Fire Chief until he retired in 1985.

Mac married the love of his life, Trudy, on May 11, 1985. They were both avid golfers, enjoyed dancing, traveling with friends and spending time with his extended family. Mac enjoyed fishing and watching football and other sports. We always laughed when he would yell at the game on TV. Mac was a straight shooter and loved telling stories. He will be missed very much.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur; son, Kenneth; stepson, Randy Fowler; and his beloved dog of 16 years, Teddy, aka TedTed. Mac is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Trudy MacLeod; her children, Gary Fowler (Pam), Patti Bates; daughter-inlaw, Lisa Fowler; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Kelly (Dan) Stephanie (Tavo), Jordan, Emily; great grandchildren, Baileigh-Ann, Rileigh (tank), Devin, Austin, Bruce, Grant, Julia; his daughter, Kathy (Rick); daughter-in-law, Renee; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Per his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Firefighters, Widows & Orphans Fund, PO Box 1413, Lodi, CA 95241.
