Don’t blame Trump

-

Editor: On the recent Vietam vet’s diatribe on Trump: I respect his service for I also am a Vietnam combat vet, but I’m puzzled with his accusations against Trump since every one of them have been proven wrong.

“Trump was a plague” he asserts; “failed to lead in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.” Where was he when Trump, with the help of the private sector, broke all records in getting a vaccine and shutting down travel first from China and then from Europe while Democrats.

The banning of travel was xenophobic and racist. Why? Because everything under the sun is racist to Democrats. Now we’re being told by academics that children as young as 2 are racist! I ask you, what socialist government in history was race-based; who banned unacceptable books, who redefined free speech to acceptable speech, and punished anyone who questioned the prevailing narratives of the government and its political operatives … the media.

That government was the National Socialist German Workers party, the Nazis. Fifteen years before Hitler’s rise it was inconceivable that the Germans could commit atrocities like the Holocaust for they were one of the most tolerant European countries for Jews. Economist and philosopher F.A. Hayek argued “The supreme tragedy is still not seen that in Germany it was largely people of good will who, by their socialist policies, prepared the way for forces which stand for everything they detest.”

Hayek stated that socialists are guided by good will but their policies will always make liberty its victim. The roots of this socialist poison comes not from the working class but from “second-hand dealers in ideas,” referring to Journalists and teachers “who are masters of the technique of conveying ideas but amateurs so far as the substance of what they convey.” To my veteran friend, don’t be fooled by the Democrat socialist lie of which the Democrat Party proudly declare themselves to be. Socialist policies always end in tyranny.
