LEO P. KUHN
Leo P Kuhn passed away on March 29, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family in Lodi, CA. He was born on June 8, 1936 in Logan County, ND. He was the beloved husband of Ida Katherine Kuhn for 63 years. He grew up on the family farm in Napoleon, ND with his parents and eight siblings. In 1957, he married the love of his life Ida Piatz at St. Anthony’s Church south of Napoleon, North Dakota. They farmed for seven years and then moved to Lodi, CA in 1964. He worked at Blewett Dairy for a short time and then worked at Guild Winery until he retired as a foreman at the age of 59. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling in their motorhome, and spending time with his family and friends. He was always very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with the entire family at Sunday dinners and would always tell Ida, “Look at what we started!” He was a member of Saint Anne’s Church, Lodi Sportsman Club, Moose Lodge, and Eagles.
Leo is survived by his wife, Ida; children, Rick (Sandy), Glenn (Susan), Pius (Shelly), Brenda (Les) Malsam, Karen (Nick) Bettencourt, Leon (Gina); 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anne (the late Martin) Noltz, Delores (John) Becker, Helen (Pius) Ternes, Barbara (Andy) Hilzendeger, Betty (Richard) Kuntz, Mary (Gerry) Rattei; and sisterin-law, Irene. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Ida; parents, Pius and Katharina; and brothers, John (Leona) and Joe.
Viewing is Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 with Vigil at 6:00 at Collins Family Funeral Home. Service is Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1:00 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with committal immediately following at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery. Current Covid19 restrictions will apply. The family would like to thank the Hospice of San Joaquin for their support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Anne’s Church or a charity of your choice.
