ADRIANA ‘JEANETTE’ MARTIN

-

Adriana “Jeanette “Martin born January 22,1951 in Escalon, CA died July 13, 2021. She passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by loved ones, after prolonged heart conditions. She was raised by her parents Jan & Nell Warmerdam on a dairy farm where she still resided near Lockeford, California.

She attended St. Anne’s Grammar School and St. Mary’s High. In 1992, she graduated from the University of the Pacific, continuing on to receive her Master’s degree. She had a rewarding career as a Math Major teaching at both Webster and Commodore Middle Schools in Stockton.

She married James Martin at Lockeford’s St. Joachim’s church. They celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this year. They were blessed with two daughters and later four grandchildren.

Adriana treasured time with her family. She and her husband coached their girls’ soccer teams and were involved with their various other sports. These activities continued to be a big part of their life, going on to watch their grandchildren play softball and soccer. As a grandparent, she enjoyed weekend adventures and vacation travels. She spent time scrapbooking and having game nights with her sisters. She also cherished her relaxing quiet nights with her husband and of course, her small dog, Zoey.

Adriana “Jeanette” is preceded in death by her parents, Jan and Nell Warmerdam. She is survived by her husband, Jim Martin; her two daughters, Julie LaZar and AnnDee Johnson; her grandchildren, Jared and Madelyn LaZar, Austin and Jazlynn Johnson — whom brought so much joy to her life. As well as three siblings, Gerard Warmerdam, Elizabeth Link and Annette Buck; and a large group of Dutch aunts and cousins both in the United States and Holland.

Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us”. - Helen Keller

The memorial services were attended by dear friends and family on July 21, at the Collins Family Funeral Home. It was followed by a “Celebration of Life” luncheon where many gathered and shared fond memories.

She lived her 70 years to the fullest and is now at peace reunited with loved ones that passed before us.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to American Heart Association.
