IN LOVING MEMORY MARTIN LUTHER CHURCH, SR.

Martin Luther Church 91 years of age passed away on July 25, 2021 in Sacramento, California at UCD Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Church was born to Claude J. and Fannie Lee Jones Church on June 12, 1930 in Bastrop, Louisiana. He married Jeraldine Turner on January 19, 1952 at the First Baptist Church parsonage in Lodi California.

Mr. Church joined the United States Air Force on 10/08/1948 and retired 05/01/1975. He achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. While in the military he received a BA degree in Business Administra­tion from Southern Colorado State University. He worked at Cheyenne Mountain for NORAD for many years before retirement. He again entered government civil service and worked at McClellan Air Force base, and for Hurricane Hunters before retiring for a second time in 1999.

Mr. Church was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Ben-Ali Shrine.

He attended the Wisconsin University clown program and was a profession­al clown for the Shriner’s. He participat­ed in many functions benefittin­g the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Church is survived by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Jeraldine; his 4 children, Michael Robinson, Brenda Holiday, Martin L. Church Jr., and David Church; 8 grandchild­ren and 12 great-grandchild­ren; his siblings, Bobby Dale Church, Carl Church, Irene Church, Pearl Church; and many loving nieces and nephews from his home town of Bastrop, LA.

Public service will be on August 9, 2021 at Lodi Funeral Home at 10 a.m., private interment will follow.
