Sabina Jessie Monyko, 97, passed away peacefully at Lodi Memorial Hospital on July 27, 2021. She was surrounded by her 3 children at time of death.

Sabina was born in Jerome, Arizona, on September 3, 1923, before moving to Jackson, Ca, with her family then onward to Stockton, Ca, where she graduated from high school.

Sabina was age 23 when she met her husband, Bill Monyko, at the Stockton Ballroom where they danced the evening away to tunes of the live Big Band Orchestra. It was love at first sight and were married shortly after on February 17, 1946. She was married for 42 years until her husband, Bill, passed on December 27, 1988. Together they had 3 children, Linda, Bill Junior and Gloria.

Sabina was a happily dedicated homemaker most of her life. She was an active volunteer at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and St. Luke’s Grammar School in numerous ways throughout her life. Sabina loved her home of 70 years on Ingram Street in Stockton and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, walking, traveling and yes even cleaning and organizing her immaculate home. Sabina’s utmost priority was her faith in God and living her life for others as wife, mother, friend & neighbor to all each day of her life. She was a beautiful, sweet, kind, unconditio­nal loving woman, always smiling and will be missed beyond words to each of us.

Sabina is survived by daughters Linda Monyko of Stockton, Ca, and Gloria Monyko Quintanar of Benicia, Ca; son Bill Monyko, Junior, of Acampo, Ca; 2 grandchild­ren and 3 great grandchild­ren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter Street in Stockton.
