A supreme honor in the Lodi Masonic family

-

On Aug. 4, Willow Wright, of Lodi Bethel 276 of Job’s Daughters International, decided to venture to Hampton, Va., for the group’s international conference, Supreme Bethel.

Every year this international convention takes place in early August, bringing together members from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and the Philippines. This year was a hybrid session, which allowed more members from distant countries to attend. Over 1,000 people came together virtually and in person for competitions, voting, the Miss International Pageant, and to pick and install the next set of international officers.

Wright is a Past Honored Queen (president) of Stockton and Lodi Bethels. While she works full time as a life guard, she remains very active in Job’s Daughters with her sights set on a state or international office. With so many attending our international session, it was a long shot to get picked for any office. When California was chosen at random for Supreme Bethel Guide, Wright’s name was also randomly selected to take that office, the first of only two California girls selected for the year. This office, while randomly chosen, is one that is often an elected position for local bethels, which makes the honor more exciting.

While in office, Wright is planning on being very active with the local bethels of Stockton, Elk Grove, and Sacramento areas, as well as traveling around California, to at least 10 other states, and possibly Canadian provinces where permitted. She is also tasked with holding a fundraiser for our philanthropic project, HIKE (Hearing Improvement Kids Endowment), an organization which provides hearing devices to hearing impaired children.
