No. 14 Michigan 38, at Wisconsin 17: Cornelius Johnson caught both of Cade McNamara’s touchdown passes and the Wolverines remained unbeaten with a victory over the Badgers, who lost quarterbac­k Graham Mertz to a chest injury. Wisconsin trailed 13-10 and had the ball to start the third when Mertz was sacked by Daxton Hill on a third-andnine play. Mertz and tight end Jake Ferguson went to the locker room with chest injuries after that play, and neither returned. Once Mertz and Ferguson departed, Michigan scored 25 consecutiv­e points to put the game out of reach. at Illinois 24, Charlotte 14: Chase Brown rushed for 257 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Illini. His 80-yard scoring run as time expired in the third quarter was the longest run of the year for Illinois. Brandon Peters was 10-of-19 passing for 78 yards and one touchdown for the Illini. Minnesota 20, at Purdue 13: Trey Potts ran four yards for the go-ahead touchdown 70 seconds into the second half, and the Golden Gophers held on for their fourth straight win over the Boilermake­rs. No. 11 Ohio State 52, at Rutgers 13: C.J. Stroud threw for 330 yards and a career-high five touchdowns after sitting out a game to rest his shoulder and the Buckeyes won their 20th straight conference game. Stroud connected with Chris Olave on touchdown passes of 56 and 11 yards, found Garrett Wilson on a 32-yard catch and run and hit tight ends Jeremy Ruckert and Mitch Rossi on scoring passes. at No. 4 Penn State 24, Indiana 0: Sean Clifford passed for 178 yards and three touchdowns to spark the Nittany Lions to a victory over the Hoosiers. Clifford completed 17 of 33 passes and threw one intercepti­on. The Hoosiers converted just three downs and was held to 260 total yards. at No. 17 Michigan State 48, Western Kentucky 31: Kenneth Walker and Jayden Reed combined to score five touchdowns in the first half to help the Spartans build a 26-point lead en route to the victory. The Spartans have won their first five games for the first time since starting 8-0 in 2015. at Nebraska 56, Northweste­rn 7: Adrian Martinez accounted for four touchdowns — including a career-best three rushing — to lead the Cornhusker­s to the rout. Martinez rushed for 50 yards in eight carries and passed for 202 yards. Jaquez Yant had 127 yards in 13 carries and Rahmir Johnson rushed for two touchdowns.

at Kentucky 20, No. 10 Florida 13: Trevin Wallace returned a blocked field-goal attempt 76 yards for the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter, Chris Rodriguez Jr. had a nine-yard scoring run early in the fourth and the Wildcats made a final defensive stand to hold off the Gators. Mississipp­i State 26, at No. 15 Texas A&M 22: Will Rogers threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns and Nathan Pickering sacked Zach Calzada in the end zone late for a safety in the Bulldogs’ victory over the Aggies. No. 22 Auburn 24, at Louisiana State 19: Bo Nix passed for a touchdown and ran for a score and Jarquez Hunter scored on a one-yard run with 3:11 left to give Auburn its first lead and a victory over LSU. Auburn, which had not won at LSU’s Tiger Stadium since 1999, secured the victory when Bydarrius Knighten intercepte­d Max Johnson’s pass on fourth down at the Auburn 39 with 1:09 left. Tennessee 62, at Missouri 24: The Volunteers piled up 683 yards of offense and crushed the Tigers. Quarterbac­k Hendon Hooker completed 15 of 19 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns, and he rushed 15 times for 80 yards and another score for Tennessee. Tiyon Evans carried 15 times for 156 yards and three touchdowns. at South Carolina 23, Troy 14: David Spaulding returned an intercepti­on 74 yards for a touchdown and Parker White kicked three field goals and the Gamecocks overcame several mistakes in the second half to hold off the Trojans. at Vanderbilt 30, Connecticu­t 28: Commodores kicker Joseph Bulovas kicked a 31-yard field goal as time ran out for a victory over the Huskies. It was the second time in the game Vanderbilt overcame a Connecticu­t lead. No. 6 Oklahoma 37, at Kansas State 31: Spencer Rattler threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns and the Sooners, who had two crucial calls overturned in their favor in the second half, recovered an onside kick with just over a minute left to hold off the Wildcats. Skylar Thompson returned from a knee injury to throw for 320 yards and three scores for Kansas State, which got a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Malik Knowles with 1:20 remaining. at No. 19 Oklahoma State 24, No. 21 Baylor 14: Jaylen Warren ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns and the Cowboys won a matchup of two unbeaten teams in the conference. Spencer Sanders passed for 182 yards and ran for 76 but had three passes intercepte­d. The Bears, who were coming off a win over Iowa State, missed a chance to beat ranked teams in consecutiv­e weeks for the first time since 1974. Texas 32, at Texas Christian 27: Bijan Robinson ran for a career-high 216 yards with two go-ahead touchdowns and Casey Thompson improved to 3-0 as starting quarterbac­k for the Longhorns. Thompson was 12-of-22 passing for 142 yards with a touchdown and an intercepti­on while under constant pressure and plagued by several drops. Texas Tech 23, at West Virginia 20: Jonathan Garibay’s 32-yard field goal with 18 seconds left lifted the Red Raiders. Garibay had three field goals in all and SaRodorick Thompson had two short touchdown runs for Texas Tech, which won without injured leading rusher Tahj Brooks and Erik Ezukanma, the Big 12’s leading receiver. at Iowa State 59, Kansas 7: Brock Purdy threw four touchdown passes in a 28-point first quarter, the most points scored by the Cyclones in an opening period.

at No. 23 North Carolina State 34, Louisiana Tech 27: Devin Leary threw for two touchdowns and the Wolfpack’s Jakeen Harris made an intercepti­on in the end zone on the game’s final play. Leary was 22 for 36 for 251 yards, and running backs Ricky Person (90 yards) and Zonovan Knight (85) each ran for a touchdown as N.C. State improved to 4-1 for the second year in a row. The Bulldogs picked up five first downs on their last possession, reaching the Wolfpack 22yard line before Harris’ intercepti­on. at No. 24 Wake Forest 37, Louisville 34: Nick Sciba kicked a 29-yard field goal with 22 seconds left and the Demon Deacons remained unbeaten. Sam Hartman threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns to lead the offense, and the Demon Deacons got a huge boost late from Justice Ellison with several patient and chain-moving runs on the go-ahead drive. Louisville got a final drive with a chance to tie and no timeouts, but the Cardinals’ desperate, lateral-filled play never got across midfield. at No. 25 Clemson 19, Boston College 13: B.T. Potter had four field goals, hitting a tiebreakin­g 35-yarder late in the third quarter, and the Tigers won their 31st in a row at home despite the suddenly stagnant offense being held to a firstquart­er touchdown. They have won 11 in a row over the Eagles. Boston College drove to the Clemson 12 in the final minute. But quarterbac­k Dennis Grosel fumbled. Pittsburgh 52, at Georgia Tech 21: Kenny Pickett pumped his Heisman Trophy candidacy as the Panthers’ fifth-year senior quarterbac­k repeatedly wiggled around in the pocket to buy extra time and complete 23 of 36 passes. at North Carolina 38, Duke 7: Sam Howell threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns and the Tar Heels kept the coveted Victory Bell for a third straight year. at Florida State 33, Syracuse 30: Ryan Fitzgerald made a 34-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Seminoles to their first win. Jordan Travis had 19 rushes for 113 yards.
