Joel Embiid after missing nine games because of COVID-19 protocols, but the Minnesota Timberwolv­es spoiled his return with a 121120, double-overtime victory.

Embiid scored all seven of the 76ers’ points in the second overtime and gave them one last chance to win it, but Anthony Edwards blocked his three-point attempt at the buzzer.

Phoenix led by 22 and extended its winning streak to 16 games, one shy of the team record, with a 113-107 victory over Brooklyn.
