With the final footfalls on the catwalks of Paris signaling the end of the major shows on the New York and European fashion week calendars, it’s time to turn our attention to the SoCal style circuit, where various spring and summer 2015 collections will be showcased as part of Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Below are a few of the highlights. Unless otherwise noted, events are for the trade only, designed to allow designers to show their spring and summer 2015 collections to store buyers and the media.

First out of the gate is the Los Angeles Fashion Council’s two- day slate of runway shows, presentations and installations Wednesday and Thursday at the former L. A. Mart building downtown in partnership with workplace collective Maker City L. A.

Focusing on local and emerging labels, the docket includes Odylyne, Linden, William Bradley, Stella Proseyn, Rochelle Carino, Colton Dane, Rose La Grua, Kaura Jewels, Bijou Van Ness and newcomer Sania Josiah, the freshlyminted winner of the group’s recent Open Runway competition.

On Saturday, Concept Los Angeles will host a one- day slate of runway shows and informal presentations.

In addition to a new venue ( Ace Museum on South La Brea Avenue on the western edge of Hancock Park), organizer Mike Vensel says this season will have something else novel in the mix — the U. S. premiere of a “dance performance art piece with live music and fashion.”

The piece, produced in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, is called “Prelude for a Symphony in Black” by Matteo Levaggi | Corpicrudi with live music by Von Haze and featuring the designs of fashion label Frances Caine.

Oneof the few fashion events open to the ticket- buying public, Fashion Business Inc.’ s fourth annual “All Aboard … L. A.’ s Fashion Platform” fundraiser is scheduled to pull into downtown’s Union Station from 6 p. m. to10 p. m. on Oct. 14.

Entertainer and musician David Longoria will be this year’s master of ceremonies.

The event is scheduled to include a networking cocktail reception, live performances and a runway show featuring six labels ( Love on a Hanger from Stony, Stop Staring, Johnny Was, CWST, Becca swimwear and Marisa Kenson).

The event will end with the presentation of two awards: the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator award and the FBI Emerging Designer of the Year award.

Tickets are $ 25 for FBI members, $ 50 for non- members and are available at fashionbizinc.org.

Oct. 14 is the same evening Los Angeles Fashion Week’s other open- to- the- public event is taking place, starting at 7 p. m. at the Avalon Hollywood. It’s Project Ethos’ showcase for emerging fashion, music and art talent, which will feature the established Nicole Miller brand as the headliner in a fashion showat11: 30 p. m.

The evening will benefit Stand Up to Cancer because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Additional details and ticket information can be found at project ethos. tv.

Los Angeles Fashion Week will close out with Style Fashion Week, afour- day slate of runway shows, presentations and installations starting Oct. 15 at L. A. Live downtown.

Organizers have 32 labels currently in the lineup, themost noteworthy among them this season’s addition of L. A.- based Sue Wong, who is forsaking her usual individual “fashion week of one” format to show her “Fairies and Sirens” collection at 7 p. m. on Style Fashion Week’s opening night.
