Tiger Woods is the youngest. Spieth sank a 41-foot birdie putt from just off the green on the parthree 16th hole to get to 14 under. Austin Cook , who gained entry through the Monday qualifier, is tied for second at 13-under 203 with first-round leader Scott Piercy and Johnson Wagner .

Andrew Putnam , the 36-hole leader, shot a 75 and fell five shots off the pace. Phil Mickelson also shot a 75 and fell six back. Mickelson birdied his first hole but had a double bogey on the par-four fifth hole and bogeys on the last three holes.
