Doris Day turned 91 on Friday. To honor the actress-singer’s life, Warner Bros. Home Entertainm­ent and Turner Classic Movies are releasing “Doris Day: The Essential Collection” on April 7. The DVD set features 15 films — 13 of them musicals Day made at Warner Bros. and MGM. The collection includes her sparkling feature debut in 1948’s “Romance on the High Seas,” in which she introduced the Oscar-nominated standard “It’s Magic”; 1951’s “On Moonlight Bay”; 1955’s “Love Me or Leave Me”; 1957’s “The Pajama Game”; 1960’s “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”; and 1966’s “The Glass Bottom Boat.”
