- — Chris Dufresne

WHO: No. 1-seeded Wisconsin (36-3) vs. No. 1-seeded Duke (34-4) WHAT: NCAA championship game, today, 6:18 p.m. WHERE: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis. TV: CBS UPDATE: Wisconsin ended Kentucky’s dream of a perfect season with a 71-64 victory Saturday night. The Badgers have advanced to their first national title game since 1941. Duke advanced to its 11th title game with an 81-61 win over Michigan State in the other semifinal. Wisconsin is trying to win the national championship against the toughest schedule possible based on regional seeding: After opening against No. 16 Coastal Carolina, the Badgers, seeded No. 1 in the West, defeated No. 8 Oregon, No. 4 North Carolina, No. 2 Arizona and No. 1 Kentucky, and now face another No. 1 in Duke. Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker have scored more points than any other players in this year’s NCAA tournament, 111 and 103 respectively, and Kaminsky needs six points to set the school single-season scoring record. Only UCLA and Kentucky, with 12, have played for the national title more times than Duke. Blue Devils Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s nine title appearances are second only to John Wooden’s 10. This is only the fourth meeting between Wisconsin and Duke, with the Blue Devils leading 2-1. Duke won a December meeting this season in Madison, 80-70. Center Jahlil Okafor needs 24 points to break Duke’s freshman scoring record. Jabari Parker set the mark last season with 670 points.
