Photo workshop
Here’s an excursion that really is for the birds. Wildlife photographer Dan Suzio is leading a 12-day photography tour of Ecuador, known for its more than 1,600 species of birds. Participants will journey to various locations and elevations in northwestern Ecuador to experience different habitats and species. Hummingbirds, toucans, tanagers and ibis are among the species that may be encountered. Highlights include a pre-dawn hike to photograph the Andean cock-of-therock, a day searching for Andean condors and a visit to the Otavalo Indian market. The workshop is limited to five people to allow for individual instruction. Dates: Sept. 28-Oct. 9 Price: $3,995 per person, double occupancy; single supplement $495.
