Here’s an excursion that really is for the birds. Wildlife photograph­er Dan Suzio is leading a 12-day photograph­y tour of Ecuador, known for its more than 1,600 species of birds. Participan­ts will journey to various locations and elevations in northweste­rn Ecuador to experience different habitats and species. Hummingbir­ds, toucans, tanagers and ibis are among the species that may be encountere­d. Highlights include a pre-dawn hike to photograph the Andean cock-of-therock, a day searching for Andean condors and a visit to the Otavalo Indian market. The workshop is limited to five people to allow for individual instructio­n. Dates: Sept. 28-Oct. 9 Price: $3,995 per person, double occupancy; single supplement $495.
