FOR THE RECORD
Robert Menendez:
An article in the March 22 Section A about the federal corruption investigation of Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) misstated an opinion of the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals as it related to the grand jury appearance of Menendez’s former chief counsel, Kerri Talbot. The article quoted the court’s opinion as saying that Talbot had refused to answer questions about Menendez. Actually, the opinion said Talbot had appeared twice before the grand jury and, in one of those appearances, refused to answer some questions about whether the senator would contend that his actions were shielded by the “speech and debate” clause of the Constitution.
Documentaries program:
An article in the April 19 Calendar section about a series of documentaries selected by Susan Sarandon as guest curator for AMC’s subscription-based streaming service Sundance-Now Doc Club said a high-profile artist is selected every month to choose his or her favorite films. The majority of the programming is selected by resident curator Thom Powers, with high-profile guest curators being invited only occasionally.
Wine hot spots:
In the April 18 Saturday section, the caption with a photo from Wally’s Vinoteca, one of eight hot spots for wines by the glass, misidentified head sommelier Matthew Turner as Chas Sinquefield.
School board lottery:
In the April 20 California section, an article about a $25,000 prize for voting in a Los Angeles school board race referred to a charter school organization called People Uplifting Communities. Its name is Partnerships to Uplift Communities.
