Donovan may be headed to Thunder

Florida Coach Billy Donovan is entertaini­ng a move to the NBA again, this time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a person familiar with the search said.

Eight years after leaving Florida to coach the Orlando Magic and then changing his mind the following day, he appears poised to make the jump and not look back this time.

Donovan spent Wednesday in talks with the Thunder about its coaching vacancy, the person told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details of the search had not been released.

A person with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press that Minnesota Timberwolv­es forward Andrew Wiggins will be named NBA rookie of the year Thursday.

Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones was arrested on domestic violence charges for allegedly damaging a woman’s cellphone and threatenin­g her.

Officers arrested the 21-year-old Jones at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday after responding to a domestic call, Tuscaloosa, Ala., police said in a statement Wednesday.

Jones was booked on two domestic violence misdemeano­rs: third-degree harassment and third-degree criminal mischief. He is the fourth Crimson Tide player to be arrested since March.

Kansas prosecutor­s declined Wednesday to bring felony charges against Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle following a domestic disturbanc­e at a hotel in Wichita, saying they concluded after reviewing the extensive police investigat­ion that there is a lack of evidence to support them.

Tiger Woods has added the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia to his summer schedule.

The tournament announced Wednesday that Woods has committed to the PGA Tour event at the Greenbrier resort starting July 2.

Jack Nicklaus said this month that Woods told him he would be at the Memorial, which is June 4-7.

On his website and Twitter feed, Woods said he’s also playing in the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, the British Open at St. Andrews and the Quicken Loans National in late July. His next tournament is the Players Championsh­ip starting May 7.
