Man accused of killing son, 3

Houston police say a father is accused of beating his 3-year-old son to death after the boy had potty training accidents.

Harris County jail records show 24-year-old Anthony Trakemon Powell was being held without bond on a capital murder charge. His son died Friday at a hospital.

Powell’s sister, 23-yearold Prosha Land, was charged with injury to a child by omission. Police say she witnessed the beatings.

Court records say Powell used his hands and belt to strike the boy when he wet himself.
