Officer’s killer gets life term
A man convicted of killing an off-duty Philadelphia police officer during a robbery attempt expressed no remorse as he was sentenced to life in prison.
Rafael Jones, 25, was sentenced in the 2012 bus stop shooting of 40-year-old Officer Moses Walker Jr.
A codefendant told authorities that Walker looked like an easy target as he listened to music on his headphones in street clothes after an overnight shift.
Prosecutors say that Jones, who has a criminal record dating back to a burglary charge at age 12, shot Walker twice as he reached for his service weapon.
