Of­fi­cer’s killer gets life term

A man con­victed of killing an off-duty Philadel­phia po­lice of­fi­cer dur­ing a rob­bery at­tempt ex­pressed no re­morse as he was sen­tenced to life in prison.

Rafael Jones, 25, was sen­tenced in the 2012 bus stop shoot­ing of 40-year-old Of­fi­cer Moses Walker Jr.

A code­fen­dant told au­thor­i­ties that Walker looked like an easy tar­get as he lis­tened to mu­sic on his head­phones in street clothes af­ter an overnight shift.

Pros­e­cu­tors say that Jones, who has a crim­i­nal record dat­ing back to a bur­glary charge at age 12, shot Walker twice as he reached for his ser­vice weapon.
