Palisades home sells for $14.75million

Several Traditiona­l-style homes around L.A.’s West side, an oceanfront contempora­ry in Malibu and a recently built residence in Arcadia were among the most expensive residentia­l real estate sales in the Los Angeles area last week.

$14.75 million — Pacific Palisades

A10,000-square-foot home in the 500 block of Chautauqua Boulevard sold for $14.75 million, one of the most expensive sales per square foot historical­ly in the area.

Built in1937 and updated last year, the East Coast inspired Traditiona­l has a classic whitewashe­d brick facade, interiors designed for formal entertaini­ng and canyon and city views. Grounds of more than an acre contain a large outdoor pavilion and swimming pool with a spa.

F. Ron Smith of Partners Trust Beverly Hills and Aaron Kirman and Paul Stukin of John Aaroe Group were the listing agents. Valerie Fitzgerald of Coldwell Banker Residentia­l Brokerage represente­d the buyer in the sale.

$10.134 million — Malibu

A2.39-acre property in the 5000 block of Philip Avenue sold for about $10.13 million, down slightly from the October list price of $10.495 million, but up from the previous sale price of $2.1million in 2013.

Plans for a10,000-squarefoot contempora­ry, to be completed this year, include a hometheate­r, a wine cellar, glass pocket doors and a 60-foot pool.

Joshua Spiegel and Gail Copley of Coldwell Banker Residentia­l Brokerage represente­d both ends of the transactio­n.

$8.055 million — Beverly Hills

A Mediterran­ean-style residence on more than half an acre in the12000 block of Crest Court sold for $445,000 less than the February list price of $8.5 million.

Gallery walls, a two-story entry and an office/library highlight the 6,586 square feet of living space, which has five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. Flat grounds with a pool with a spa and a fountain feature take in 280-degree views.

Beverly Matus of Ready Properties was the listing agent. Bridget Martens of Sotheby’s Internatio­nal Realty represente­d the buyer.

$8 million — Brentwood

Listed for sale in January for $9.25 million, an East Coast-inspired Traditiona­l on a flat half-acre lot in the 500 block of Moreno Avenue sold for $8 million.

Built in1939, the fenced estate sold for $4.25 million in 2001. Entered through a two-story foyer, the 5,547square-foot home has herring bone wood floors, a wood-paneled office, five bedrooms and six bathrooms. A detached casita and a swimming pool with a spa are among the exterior features.

David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties represente­d both the buyer and the seller.

$7.4 million — Hollywood Hills West

The onetime home of film director Paul Leder sold in the 7000 block of Hillside Avenue for $7.4 million after coming on the market in February for $8.59 million.

Set behind a gated drive, the 7,200-square-foot house was recently remodeled and has wood-vaulted ceilings, imported marble and a lounge area with floor-toceiling glass. Ahome theater, a gymand an infinityed­ge pool and spa are among the amenities.

Joshua and Matthew Altman, the Altman Brothers, of Douglas Elliman were the listing agents. James Harris and David Parnes of the Agency represente­d the buyer.

$7.2 million — Arcadia

Are cently built home in the 900 block of Fallen Leaf Road sold for $7.2 million, downfrom$7.98 million, in less than twoweeks. The property, which encompasse­s half an acre in the Santa Anita Oaks area, sold for $2.75 million in 2013.

Built in English Traditiona­l style, the house has seven bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms in10,800 square feet of living space. Two retractabl­e movie screens flank the outdoor swimming pool.

Robert Ho of Long Dragon Realty Groupwas the listing agent. Kay Yoon, also with Long Dragon Realty Group, represente­d the buyer.

$6.24million — Malibu

An ocean front home in the 24000 block of Malibu Road sold for $6.24 million in less than two months.

Accessed through a courtyard entry, the remodeled home has walls of glass, tone accents and wood pillars throughout the 3,927 square feet of living space. An ocean-facing master suite features a gas fireplace set in glass, while a lower entertaine­r’s level includes built-in wine storage.

Madison Hildebrand and Jennifer Chrisman of Partners Trust Malibu were the listing agents.

These are the top residentia­l real estate sales reported on the combined L.A./ Westside Multiple Listing Service for the period beginning May 24 and ending May 39.
