Not taking shots at antivaxers
Re “Much in common, but worlds apart,” Column, June 5
Robin Abcarian’s meeting with three antiscience activists who oppose a bill thatwould eliminate the personal-belief vaccination exemption for children who attend public schools will surely go downas among the most generous, restrained, patient and kind engagements with someone’s political opposition.
Sparing them the further embarrassment of having to defend inexplicable positions, she reviews instead the facts of vaccination and its health policy successes, gently extricating the “health choice” lobby fromany reasonable discourse.
Thanks for this variety of rhetorical inoculation— against ignorance and solipsism.
