Pence (wrist) on disabled list

-

San Franciso Giants right fielder Hunter Pence was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of tendinitis in his left wrist.

He hasn’t played since injuring the wrist June 2 on a diving catch at AT&T Park against Pittsburgh’s Andrew McCutchen, so Friday’s roster move is retroactive to June 3.

Etc.

The St. Louis Cardinals placed right-hander Lance Lynn on the 15-day DL because of a forearm strain and will recall left-hander Tyler Lyons to start Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. . . . The Washington Nationals activated newly acquired reliever David Carpenter after placing righthander Aaron Barrett on the 15day DL with a strained right biceps. . . . A Massachusetts woman who was seriously hurt when a broken bat flew into the stands at Fenway Park last week has left the hospital. Officials at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston said Tonya Carpenter was transferred to a rehabilitation center. Doctors described Carpenter’s recovery as “excellent” and said she’s getting stronger every day.
