Is­lamic State claims at­tack

An Is­lamic State-claimed car bomb ex­ploded out­side a mosque in Sana, killing at least two peo­ple and wound­ing six, author­i­ties said.

The bomb tar­geted the Qa­bat Mahdi mosque in Ye­men’s cap­i­tal, where Houthi rebels pray. The Sunni ex­trem­ist Is­lamic State claimed re­spon­si­bil­ity for the at­tack, say­ing it tar­geted Shi­ite Houthis.

It was the sec­ond Sana at­tack claimed by Is­lamic State’s af­fil­i­ate in Ye­men in four days: A se­ries of bomb­ings Wed­nes­day killed at least four peo­ple and wounded 60.
