Now that sum­mer is here (if you’re read­ing this af­ter 9:38 a.m. to­day), it’s time to start gath­er­ing your sum­mer va­ca­tion photos for our What I Did on My Sum­mer Va­ca­tion photo is­sue (one sam­ple from 2014 be­low), set for Sept. 20. The dead­line for sub­mis­sions is Sept. 9. We’re look­ing for photos from am­a­teurs, not pro­fes­sion­als, shot be­tween Me­mo­rial Day and La­bor Day. In­clude your name, city of res­i­dence, date and place of photo and the kind of cam­era you used and in­clude an email or phone num­ber where we can reach you; we won’t print your email or phone num­ber, but we may need to clar­ify in­for­ma­tion. Please limit sub­mis­sions to 10 photos. You can email the photo (which may not be larger than 10MB in one file) to with “Sum­mer Va­ca­tion Photos” in the sub­ject line; or you can go to to find out how to sub­mit through Flickr and In­sta­gram.
