Re “Stocks climb on Greek deal hope,” Business, June 24

Greece has come close to defaulting on its debt payment due next week, and its recently elected liberal government is refusing to impose the additional austerity measures that might help.

Under the conservative government of Gov. Sam Brownback, Kansas sinks deeper and deeper into financial misery, notwithstanding increasing the sales tax and cutting the school year to save expenses.

Maybe applying political ideologies to economic problems isn’t the best way to solve them.
