New rules

NHL rule changes for the 2015- 16 season:

Overtime format: Teams will play three on three for

the five- minute period. If the tie remains, the game goes to a shootout. This past season, it was four on four before the shootout.

Coach’s challenge: Limited to asking for goals that might be disallowed because of goalie interference or offside plays, in certain situations.
