Lincecum takes liner on arm

Right-hander Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants suffered a right arm bruise when he was hit by a line drive Saturday and left the game against the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park.

Lincecum was struck by DJ LeMahieu’s liner in the second inning. The ball def lected to first baseman Buster Posey, who threw home to get Chris Rusin trying to score.

Pittsburgh center fielder Andrew McCutchen left the game against Atlanta in the first inning after getting hit in the left elbow with a pitch from Julio Teheran. Xrays were negative. . . . Houston left-hander Brett Oberholtze­r was ejected in the second inning for throwing at Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. . . . Lefthander Johan Santana, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, has abandoned his comeback bid with Toronto, partly because of an infected toe.
