Summer CELEBRATIONS with the Chew Crew
Fab party themes and must-make recipes from Mario, Michael, Daphne, Carla and Cl inton
It’s summertime and the living is easy—especially with these summer party ideas from the Emmy Award-winning hosts of ABC’s The Chew, a popular daytime cooking-themed talk show. We asked Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Daphne Oz, Carla Hall and Clinton Kelly to cook up their dream summer celebration for you—
from food to tunes. Try out one, two—or all five. We promise your friends will be dazzled with whatever
Chew- worthy bash you throw this summer.
“Summer reminds me of family reunions, get-togethers with f riends, being out of school and living in Nashville,” says cookbook author Hall, who was a
Top Chef finalist. To create a party table that feels welcoming and warm, she thows on a rustic printed tablecloth, loads up a galvanized-steel tray with glasses of iced tea, serves baked beans in a cast-iron skillet and coleslaw in a crock, fills crates with cookies, uses bandanas for napkins and tucks wildflowers into Mason jars wrapped with twine. She rounds out her Southern Soirée theme with a soundtrack of old-school R&B. “It ’s music that makes you feel like it ’s a lazy day.”
