Daphne Oz’s Jersey Picnic

-

“When I was a kid, we’d pile in the car and drive the three-plus hours to the Jersey Shore,” says author Oz, who shares her healthy eating/ living tips on The Chew. “We’d stop at road stands on the way and pick up f resh peaches, tomatoes and Jersey corn, which is so sweet and crisp. To me, summer will always be about the bounty of New Jersey.” With all the colorful

produce on the table, Oz keeps her décor simple with Tiki torches and simple centerpieces. “I’m a fan of terra cotta pots with herbs because you probably have them already,” she says. “Or place flowers in a vase and put a bell jar on top. Whatever you do, make sure the flowers aren’t too high. I hate it when I can’t chat with the person across f rom me.”

Her eclectic playlist ranges f rom Jersey boys Bruce Springsteen and Frankie Valli to Bob Marley. Later in the evening, she switches to Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran— “something a bit more chill.”
