- Associated press

Kevin Hogan, a gametime decision because of an ankle sprain, threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as No. 21 Stanford defeated Oregon State, 42-24, at Corvallis, Ore.

Christian McCaffrey ran for a career-high 206 yards as Stanford (3-1, 2-0 Pac-12) effectively followed up last week’s victory at USC.

The Beavers (2-2, 0-1) trailed only 21-17 at halftime and pulled to within 35-24 early in the fourth quarter on freshman Seth Collins’ 40-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Villamin, but Stanford answered with Barry Sanders’ 65-yard TD run.

Collins passed for 275 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for a score. Boise State rolls

Boise State stunned Virginia with 17 points in the first seven minutes and rolled to a 56-14 victory at Charlottesville, Va. Jeremy McNichols scored on a twoyard run and a 10-yard reception, giving him a Bowl Subdivision-leading 10 touchdowns this season, and the Broncos (3-1) did not miss a step after losing quarterback Ryan Finley to a broken ankle last week.

Defensive tackle Justin Taimatuia intercepted a Matt Johns pass and ran 21 yards for a touchdown, McNichols’ 47-yard run set up his two-yard touchdown, and another interception set up Tyler Rausa’s 51-yard field goal. Just like that, Virginia (1-3) trailed, 17-0. Teaff in hospital
