Kopitar a Byng Trophy finalist

Kings center Anze Kopitar is one of three finalists for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, joining Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers and Loui Eriksson of the Boston Bruins. The award goes to the “player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmans­hip and gentlemanl­y conduct.”

Kopitar finished third in Lady Byng voting last season. On Thursday, he was also named a finalist for the Selke Trophy, an award given to the league’s best defensive forward. — Lisa Dillman

Brian Stuard, winless on the PGA Tour, completed his second straight bogey-free round with a 68 to take a one-shot lead in the waterlogge­d Zurich Classic at Avondale, La.

Stuard played only six holes Saturday, to reach 12-under 132 at TPC Louisiana. Jamie Landmark and Jhonattan Vegas were tied for second, one stroke back. They finished the second round Friday. Top-ranked Jason Day was five strokes behind Stuard after shooting a 68 in the second round. Rain delays have interrupte­d two out of three days of the tournament. More rain is forecast for Sunday. PGA Tour tournament director Steve Carman said there is a small possibilit­y that all four rounds of the tournament could be completed Sunday, but with more rain expected, a Monday finish is more likely.

Gerina Piller took a two-stroke lead in the LPGA Tour’s Volunteers of America Texas Shootout at Irving. Winless in 123 career starts, the 31-year-old Piller shot a bogey-free 67 to reach 14-under 199 at Las Colinas Country Club.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones said he has ruled out re-signing Greg Hardy after the defensive end was involved in several disruption­s in 2015, some related to his domestic violence case in North Carolina, a physical confrontat­ion with special teams coach Rich Bisaccia and an inappropri­ate tweet about the Sept. 11 attacks during last year’s draft.

The Buffalo Bills agreed to a deal with Glenn Gronkowski, a fullback from Kansas State who went undrafted and is the brother of Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski. Glenn Gronkowski, at 6 feet 2 and 239 pounds, had 16 rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown at Kansas State in three seasons. Dominic Thiem surpassed Novak Djokovic for most wins on tour this year as he reached the BMW Open clay-court final at Munich by defeating Alexander Zverev, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Thiem will play Philipp Kohlschrei­ber, who swept fifth-seeded Fabio Fognini, 6-1, 6-4. Second-seeded Grigor Dimitrov will face unseeded Diego Schwartzma­n in the final of the Istanbul Open. Dimitrov defeated third-seeded Ivo Karlovic, 7-6 (0), 7-6 (2). Schwartzma­n beat fourth-seeded Federico Delbonis, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2.

Clay-court specialist Nicolas Almagro defeated second-seeded Nick Kyrgios, 6-3, 7-5, in the Estoril Open at Portugal to reach his second final of the season. Almagro next faces Pablo Carreno Busta, who upset third-seeded Benoit Paire, 6-3, 6-3, at the claycourt tournament.

Omar McLeod, a former Arkansas star who turned 22 last Monday, won the 110-meter hurdles at the Drake Relays in a world-leading 13.08 seconds at Des Moines. McLeod improved to 9-0 in indoor and outdoor races this season, a stretch that includes a world indoor title at 60 meters.

Ridden by Fernando Perez, Uncle Lino led all the way to win the $151,035 California Chrome Stakes by a half-length in track-record time at Los Alamitos. Uncle Lino ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:40.82, bettering the mark of 1:40.86 set by Dortmund in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity on Dec. 20, 2014.
