Doing L.A. wildlife a favor

Re “A push to raise funds for a wildlife overpass,” Oct. 20

Unfettered human population growth has amounted to a massive land grab from free-roaming (wild) animals. After all, it’s their planet too. Freeway overpasses to connect populations are the least we can do for them.

We have seen mature wildlife overpasses in Canada. They are magically beautiful arcs of forest. Cameras record usage, which increases over time. People are remotely able able to view animals exploring the connectors for the first time, parents guiding offspring across and more. It’s a win-win installation.

Thank you for pointing the way to participation and donation. Deborah W. Elliott Pacific Palisades
