City to ponder deal with FAA

The Santa Monica City Council is scheduled Tuesday to consider a deal with the Federal Aviation Administration over the city’s efforts to close its airport. Santa Monica has been reducing f light operations, forcing out aviation businesses and shortening the runway in an effort to close the airport by July 2018, if possible. The city’s approach has prompted an FAA investigation.
