FCC to vote on Web rule

On Thursday, the Federal Communications Commission is set to vote on a proposal requiring high-speed Internet providers to get customer permission before sharing sensitive personal information, such as Web browsing history. The proposal is not as stringent as an earlier version that would have required consent over a broader set of data, including name and address.
