Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Tyler Labine, Kathy Bates and Kristen Schaal also star in this 2016 comedy. 8 p.m. HBO Beaches The original 1988 big-screen dramedy about women whose friendship since childhood sustains them became an instant classic among fans. That means Idina Menzel and Nia Long have their work cut out for them as they take over the Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey roles, respectively, in this new and updated for-TV remake. Gabriella Pizzolo, Sanai Victoria and Antonio Cupo also star, 8 p.m. Lifetime. (The special “Beaches: The After Party,” featuring cast appearances follows at 10.) Birthday Wish When a TV commercial director (Jessy Schram) is dismayed that her boyfriend fails to propose marriage, she makes a birthday wish to see what her life will look like in 10 years and, miraculously, it’s granted.
