Adam Hadwin won the Valspar Championsh­ip at Palm Harbor, Fla., righting himself after losing a two-shot lead with a double bogey at the 16th hole. The 29-year-old Canadian closed with two pars for a final-round 71 for a one-shot victory over Patrick Cantlay and a spot in the Masters.

Cantlay, a former No. 1-ranked amateur from UCLA, could have forced a playoff with a par at No. 18, but he put his approach into a bunker, hit out well short of the hole and missed his 15-foot par putt to close with a 68. His consolatio­n prize was a runner-up finish that paid $680,400 and secured full PGA Tour status for the rest of the year.

S.S.P. Chawrasia of India defended his Indian Open title with a seven-stroke victory over Malaysia’s Gavin Green in the European Tour event at New Delhi.
