Dr. Luke steps down as CEO
Hit maker Dr. Luke is no longer chief executive of Kemosabe Records, which he founded under Sony Music in 2011, but sources indicate his ties to the label haven’t been completely severed.
“This is wrong, they are not cutting ties,” said a rep for the producer, real name Lukasz Gottwald, referencing a Tuesday report that said Sony was done with Gottwald amid a battle between him and singer Kesha. The rep didn’t go into specifics as to what the continuing relationship might entail. Gottwald is out as Kemosabe CEO as part of a contractual obligation, made public in court documents, that was set to expire at the end of March.
