An Obama-era rule for retirement advisors, delayed by a review ordered by President Trump, partially takes effect Friday. The regulation requires investment brokers who handle retirement funds to put clients’ interests ahead of their own. But a requirement that f irms accepting commissions put the rule’s provisions into customer contracts won’t take effect until Jan. 1.
