KUPPER, Ethel Z.

-

Ethel passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2017, at the age of 95. She was born in New York on October 6, 1921 and spent the rest of her life in Los Angeles after moving there at age 6.

Her loving husband, Vic, predeceased her in 2011 after 69 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters Janice (Barry) Nisen, Nina (Tom) Luther, Sandra (Loren) Kleinrock. Cherished Nana of Brooke & Jeremy (Heather) Nisen, Kevin (Merilisse) & Scott (Kyra) Kleinrock; great-grandmother of Hunter & Taylor Kleinrock and Judah & Bram Nisen.

Ethel was the perennial volunteer when her daughters were growing up. She was a fantastic hostess for all of the annual holiday celebrations with family and friends. Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, friend, sister, aunt and cousin. She was generous with her time, resources, and affection. She was curious and always interested in learning new things. Ethel loved the adventure of travelling the world with Vic and sometimes their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending symphonies, plays, and movies. Most of all, however, she enjoyed watching as many activities of her children and grandchildren as possible.

Ethel was engaging and friendly and when she and Vic downsized to a senior living community; she made new friends and joined new activities. She enjoyed exercise, current event classes, and bingo.

Ethel was a blessing in the lives of so many. We will miss her dearly, and she will always be in our hearts.

Our family thanks all the loving, devoted caregivers from Carmel that helped Ethel during the past year.

Services will be held Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Mortuary in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Braille Institute.
