Pot­ter goes to Hol­ly­wood

Harry Pot­ter and friends are com­ing back to the Hol­ly­wood Bowl this sum­mer, with the L.A. Phil­har­monic gear­ing up for live per­for­mances of mu­sic from the sec­ond and third movies in the fran­chise. Mon­day’s an­nounce­ment co­in­cided with the 20th an­niver­sary of the de­but of J.K. Rowl­ing’s “Harry Pot­ter” se­ries.

“Harry Pot­ter and the Cham­ber of Se­crets” will screen July 6, fol­lowed by “Harry Pot­ter and the Pris­oner of Azk­a­ban” July 8-9. Justin Freer will con­duct the Phil both nights as the or­ches­tra per­forms John Wil­liams’ scores while the movies roll.

The Harry Pot­ter Film Con­cert Se­ries brought a “Harry Pot­ter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” screen­ing to the Bowl last July.
