Cock­tails, the next British in­va­sion

This city is home to some of the best cock­tail bars in the coun­try. At least that’s what the crew be­hind Cock­tails in the City, one of the U.K.’s big­gest cock­tail fes­ti­vals, thinks about the tip­ples in L.A. That’s why the fes­ti­val is hold­ing its first Cock­tails in the City event in L.A., on Sept. 23 at the Ma­jes­tic. The or­ga­niz­ers are billing it as the big­gest cock­tail fes­ti­val in Cal­i­for­nia, with more than 2,500 peo­ple ex­pected to at­tend and 30 pop-ups from bars around Los An­ge­les. Roger Room, the Nor­mandie Club, Sas­safras, Birds and Bees, Mel­rose Um­brella Co., Now Board­ing, the Edi­son, Lost Prop­erty, Big Bar, Har­vard and Stone and Ho­tel Figueroa will all be mix­ing up drinks, most mak­ing spe­cialty drinks for the event. You can also check out a bar school for bud­ding home bar­tenders, a craft spir­its dis­cov­ery room and buy food from lo­cal res­tau­rants. Cock­tails in the City: Tick­ets are $25 and in­clude a cock­tail from any of the par­tic­i­pat­ing bars, an event guide and a swag bag. Ad­di­tional drink to­kens are $10 each.
