De León endorses in the election to succeed him

State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León , who is termed out after next year, has endorsed labor leader Maria Elena Durazo to succeed him in representing his Los Angeles district.

Durazo currently holds a leadership role in Unite Here, a union representing hotel workers. She was the head of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor before that. She jumped into the race for De León’s Senate seat in April.
