Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig’s Encino home was broken into Wednesday night about an hour after the Dodgers lost Game 7 of the World Series, according to published media reports.

LAPD officers responded to a burglar alarm at about 9: 45 p. m., said Officer Rosario Herrera, a department spokeswoman.

Officers found a smashed window at the home, and items had been taken, Her- rera said. The LAPD’s Commercial Crimes Division is investigating the break- in.

“No one was home at the time,” Herrera said.

Police officials did not disclose the value of the stolen items, the address of the home or the home’s owner. TMZ reported that the home belonged to Puig.

Puig bought a remodeled Encino home on the block for $ 2.65 million earlier this year, public records show.

Burglars also hit Puig’s Sherman Oaks home in March and made off with at least $ 170,000 worth of jewelry.

There has been a rash of burglaries at celebrity homes in the last year.

Singer Alanis Morissette’s Brentwood mansion was broken into in February. Burglars made off with a safe containing $ 2 million in jewelry and other valuables.

Valuables worth nearly $ 500,000 were stolen from the home of former Lakers guard Nick Young in February.
