Did you know there was a competing movie about the Dunkirk evacuation when you started yours?
“I didn’t know there was a ‘Dunkirk’ really happening. But you know, fairly quickly found out, and I kind of asked around to see if there was a Churchill in the movie, and I was very relieved to discover that Churchill didn’t appear in the movie. And then I kind of just left it alone really. I was just finishing our film when I went and saw ‘Dunkirk,’ and I think it’s a masterpiece. It’s an extraordinary piece of work and I’m incredibly impressed by it.”
