CHARGERS IN SPOTLIGHT

- — Dan Woike

OFFENSE

On the opening play, the Chargers found Hunter Henry on a seven-yard pass to set up a manageable second-and-short. After their off week, the Chargers said a priority/goal was to get the ball to their top players — of which Henry is one — but the second-year tight end only had one more pass thrown his way as he split snaps with Antonio Gates. When Henry is targeted more than three times this season, the Chargers are 3-1. When he’s not, as on Sunday, they’re winless.

DEFENSE

Joey Bosa continued his run of excellent play with four quarterback hurries, a sack and a tackle for a loss. But on Jacksonville’s final possession of regulation, Bosa came around the right edge to hit Blake Bortles from behind, wrap him up around the waist and toss the quarterback to the ground. Unbeknownst to Bosa, Bortles already had released the football and the play was ruled unnecessary roughness. The penalty moved the Jaguars up 15 yards and made the gametying field goal for Josh Lambo more manageable.
