In another impressive showing in his latest comeback from back surgeries, Tiger Woods built on a solid start with a 31 on the front nine that briefly gave him the lead at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. He stalled on the back nine with a pair of bogeys and settled for a four-under 68.

“Successful,” Woods called it after finishing the second round five shots behind Charley Hoffman, who led Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood by three shots. Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Charles Johnson was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s performanc­e-enhancing drugs policy . ... Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper is among several players with concussion­s who won’t play Sunday. Others include Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant and Jacksonvil­le linebacker Telvin Smith and offensive tackle Josh Wells. Jaguars receiver Allen Hurns (ankle) also won’t play . .... Denver Broncos nose tackle Domata Peko (knee) will miss his first game since 2009 . ... Detroit Lions punt returner Jamal Agnew (knee), who leads the NFL, and center Travis Swanson (knee) won’t play Sunday . ... The Arizona Cardinals signed defensive lineman Corey Peters toa three-year extension.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert is out up to two months after left knee surgery . ... Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is out at least a week with a bruised knee bone . ... Orlando Magic forward Terrence Ross is out indefinite­ly with leg injuries.

Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford, put on injured reserve, is out for at least a week.
