Oklahoma quarterbac­k Baker Mayfield and 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson of Louisville are Heisman finalists for the second consecutiv­e year and will be joined in New York for the presentati­on ceremony by Stanford running back Bryce Love.

The award for most outstandin­g college football player will be given out Saturday night.

Aaron Boone’s hiring was finalized by the New York Yankees, who gave the ESPN broadcaste­r a threeyear contract to succeed Joe Girardi as manager.

The Yankees, who picked Boone over five other candidates last week, scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.

Boone, 44, has never been a manager or coach at any level since retiring as a player after the 2009 season.

The NBA suspended Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston for one game and removed official Courtney Kirkland from the officiatin­g rotation for a week because of an altercatio­n during a game Sunday. Livingston served his suspension Monday. Kirkland’s suspension runs through Sunday and he’ll be eligible to officiate again Dec. 11 . ... Derrick Rose ended his self-imposed separation from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The veteran point guard, who has been dealing with a sprained left ankle for much of his first season with the Cavaliers, returned to the team to resume rehab and treatment. A frustrated Rose had left the team Nov. 22 to contemplat­e his future, but he’s back and working toward a return to the floor.
